Sponsorship Opportunities At MMTC

1) Latest News

Melton Mowbray Tennis Club is very pleased to announce that its hard work to secure funding for resurfacing of the tennis courts at the Melton Sports Village on Burton Road has been successful.

Funding has come from Sport England, the Lawn Tennis Association and Melton Borough Council and the Club itself which has been able to secure a significant amount of funding from our own members due to their hard work and some very generous local donations.

This news is the result of 3 years of fundraising, local support, and planning which have all finally paid off, and is a credit to the vision of the Club’s founders and its members since it was formed in 2017.

We now have nearly 300 members, comprising approx. 120 Juniors and 180 Adults and, despite the coronavirus, we have been able to increase our membership, welcoming 27 new families to the Club in the last 12 months.

We are hugely ambitious and have a clear vision of what we want to establish which is a family-friendly club, run by volunteers and with a warm welcome for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, with the return of tennis.

2) Timetable for Resurfacing Project

It is intended that the transformation of the courts will be completed by the early Spring. The four courts will be:

  • Resurfaced with artificial clay; an all-year round, slower surface to play on

  • Suitable for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy their tennis

  • Available throughout the year (weather permitting!)

  • With less risk of injury and lower muscle stress

  • Enclosed securely within new perimeter fencing

This will benefit our own members and visiting players but also local schools with whom we have very strong relationships including Birch Wood (Melton Area Special School).

3) Next Steps

However, our continuous improvement plans are never complete which is why we are asking for your help please.

Although we can now boast a super clubhouse, ideal for entertaining visitors, relaxing in before or after play, we cannot yet play the role of perfect hosts since we do not have running water or toilet facilities. There are other improvements we also wish to make when we take on full responsibility for all the Club’s facilities.

Therefore, we are seeking support from local businesses and organisations to help with these additional activities:

  • Cutting back pine trees adjacent to the courts - reducing maintenance

  • Laying new paving – to create a larger viewing / social area

  • Floodlight improvements (LEDs, switch panels) – enabling us to control usage

  • Complete water supply and drainage

  • Installation of permanent toilet(s) – no longer relying on other facilities

  • Purchase of equipment – see below

  • Ongoing running costs – court maintenance, water and electricity

4) Sponsorship Opportunities

There are several levels of sponsorship which should match most available budgets, comprising:

Perimeter Advertising

It is intended that Sponsors’ Banners will be mounted at eye level on the perimeter fence alongside the courts; facing all players, passers-by, match officials and other users of the Melton Sports Village site - not just tennis players.

There is considerable ‘foot fall’ at the tennis courts throughout the week including weekends and weekdays, especially when other sports clubs are hosting tournaments and social events.

Depending on new fence dimensions, banners will be approx. 2.5m wide x 0.75m deep, full colour heavy duty banner with steel eyelets.

Prices are as follows, including free replacement banner during the sponsorship period due to excessive wear and tear.

  • Year 1                         £300, including banner production and erection

  • Year 2                         £200

  • Year 3                         £100 (if paid with Year 2)

5) Funding for Other Equipment

To maximise the benefit of the new courts, we must obtain an array of new equipment which will benefit all users and spectators but in particular our Junior and Disability Programmes.

Your generous sponsorship will contribute to the purchase of these items:

  • Clay Court Line Sweepers (x 2)

  • Nets and Posts (x 4)

  • Junior Coaching Equipment

  • Spectator Seating

  • Match Balls – per box

  • Wheelchair Access Ramp

  • Players’ Seating (x 4)

  • Floodlight Switch Panel

  • Ball Machine

Some of these items present additional opportunities for advertising and could have your branding; name and logos etc. These can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

6) Reasons to Sponsor Melton Mowbray Tennis Club

In return for your support, you will receive:

  • Acknowledgement on Clubhouse Sponsors’ Board

  • Opportunities to display company information; flyers, samples etc.

  • Visibility to wider Community 24/7 all year round

    • Schools on the site and other sports clubs using Melton Sports Village

  • Discounted 1st Year Membership

    • 25% off (1-Year sponsorship)

    • 50% off (2- or 3-Year sponsorship)

  • Free Taster Sessions for Sponsor’s Employees and Families

  • Company Days at Club including use of facilities
